The Traffic played to the same record on their 10-game roadtrip as they did on the last homestand: 6-4. Here's what happened:
Salt Lake City: The Traffic lost 2 of 3 to the 1st place Shakers. They won the third game 8-2 to avoid the sweep; Enrique Park finished a triple short of the cycle and drove in 3. Will Piper gave up 1 run on only 1 hit in 6 innings.
Vancouver: The pesky Golden Otters earned a 4-game split with Trenton. The highlight was in the last game, where former Otter Miguel Cerveza (filling in for the injured Magglio Perez) untied a 3-3 game in the 7th with a 3-run shot.
Chicago: The Traffic swept the Snake Tamers in Wrigley, winning all 3 games by exactly one run. Former Chicago reliever Bernie Corino earned the save in all 3 games.
WHO WAS HOT:
Miguel Cerveza: Went 9 for 20 (.450) filling in for Perez, hitting 4 homers and driving in 8.
Watty Miller: Reached base safely 21 times (15 hits, 6 walks), hitting .340 on the trip.
WHO WAS NOT HOT:
Shawn Butler: Hit .219 on the road trip.
Alex Sanchez: In his two starts, went 0-1 with a 5.73 ERA and 10 walks.
COMING UP: They'll be at home for 4 against Toronto, then go right back on the road for a 9-game trip through New Orleans, Chicago (again), and Cheyenne. Fans, remember that tomorrow night's game is Cap Herrera bobblehead night (available to the first 18,000 fans), so make sure to get to the ballpark early.
